Meet sweet baby Landyn. We had the pleasure of photographing him days after his arrival to his adoring parents. He was a sleepy little guy that shared a few smiles here and there. He woke up content and relaxed most of the time and would fall back asleep within moments. He has the cutest little button nose and beautiful lips. He is a very loved little man and we are so excited to share with you the images from his session. Enjoy!

Emily told me that she was hoping for a snowy engagement session. Two weeks before we were scheduled to meet with her and Jim, we received 12″ of snow. We were in luck! On their session day it was sunny, but still a bit chilly. They were troopers and let us take them all around the Richardson Nature Center. We are very much looking forward to their June 1st wedding. We’re sending them many (warm) congratulations as they embark on this new journey together!

I am honored to share a special, personal moment with you. My grandparents who have been civilly married for 23 years decided they wanted their marriage blessed by the Catholic Church. I feel pretty lucky as at their civil ceremony years ago, I was a cute little 3-year old in a pink frilly dress and had the large responsibility of flower girl. Some odd years later I get to capture this beautiful moment and witness them rededicate the rest of their lives to one another. I’m fairly certain these are the only two days in my life that I’ve actually seen them kiss! Congratulations to my loving grandparents. I am so blessed that I am a witness to the growth of the love they share for one another.

Gabi and Jack’s wedding was a very special day for us. Gabi’s older sister Jeri is my closest girlfriend and that means I’ve had the absolute joy of watching Gabi turn into an incredible woman over years. When I met her she was still in high school and soon moved into college. Before I knew it she was celebrating her engagement to a wonderful man, Jack. I’m sure you’ve seen them here before. Last winter, we spent time at Lake Calhoun after one of Minneapolis’s only snow falls for their engagement session. And this summer we got together with The Bliss Life for a styled session. Now I have the absolute joy to share their wedding day with you. But first, here are some thoughts from Gabi and Jack. Enjoy!
“Our wedding was the best wedding I’ve ever been to (as it should be for every bride and groom). It was fun, laid back and full of love. If I had dreamed up the perfect wedding, it would have been ours. It went so smoothly and was so beautiful; I couldn’t be more happy or proud of our special day. I think what made it so special was that everyone put so much work into making it what it was – perfect! Our family, friends and of course our wedding planners were so amazing, none of it would have been possible without them. It’s a shame that time couldn’t slow down for just one day. Early morning turned to late night way too fast and I wish I could back and enjoy it all over again. Just writing this I am getting teary-eyed and filled with all the emotions of that day. I couldn’t feel more blessed to have the loving husband and supportive friends and families that I do today.
As for my vendors, they were all amazing. I cannot express the gratitude I feel in my heart for everyone who helped put everything together. The biggest thanks go to Jessica Hannon Photography and The Bliss Life. Together, they created and captured our wedding day so that Jack and I can relive it, not only in our memories, but through beautiful photography. Thank you so much.” ~ Gabi Winkels
“Our wedding day was the single greatest day of my life. And it was the first amazing day of our lives together. I could not have asked for anything more. Everything turned out amazingly due to the hard work of many people! We could not have been more grateful to all of the people who helped, and who came out for our day! It was the largest outpouring of love that I have ever seen, and that was not lost on us. It was also a very emotional day. There were relatives and friends there that I hadn’t seen for years and years. Knowing that all of these people came out to show is their love and support was overwhelming for both of us. Our families were completely united, and that was a sight to be seen! Two big families coming together can make for a rowdy and memorable night!
It was never a mystery of how much I loved Gabriela, but I had the entire day to show everyone how much she meant to me! It was the time to parade around my beautiful new wife! It was fantastic! I only wish I could go back in time and be a guest at that party, because I hear it was a good one! It was such a blur from start to finish.” ~ Jack Winkels
